King Manasseh’s Comeback 

 

“Celebrate Recovery” is a Christ-centered family recovery ministry. 

  • We all have hurts, habits, and hang-ups. 
  • Biblically-based approach to repentance and reconciliation. 

 

MANASSEH IS THE PRODIGAL SON OF THE OLD TESTAMENT. 

  • His father was King Hezekiah. 
  • Co-regents for 10 years. 
  • Death of his father impacted him in some way. 
  • Grief can have a powerful effect on us. 
  • Grief is a sacred expression of our love for someone we’ve lost.

 

MANASSEH REBELS AGAINST GOD 

2 He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, following the detestable practices of the pagan nations that the Lord had driven from the land ahead of the Israelites. 3 He rebuilt the pagan shrines his father, Hezekiah, had broken down. He constructed altars for the images of Baal and set up Asherah poles. He also bowed before all the powers of the heavens and worshiped them. 4 He built pagan altars in the Temple of the Lord, the place where the Lord had said, “My name will remain in Jerusalem forever.” 5 He built these altars for all the powers of the heavens in both courtyards of the Lord’s Temple. 6 Manasseh also sacrificed his own sons in the fire in the valley of Ben-Hinnom. He practiced sorcery, divination, and witchcraft, and he consulted with mediums and psychics. He did much that was evil in the Lord’s sight, arousing his anger. 2 Chronicles 33:2-6 NLT

  • All sin is against God. 
  • Every day we have a choice. 

HOW FAR IS TOO FAR? 

  • No matter what you have done, you have not out-sinned God’s ability to forgive you. 

 

  • There is no sin that God cannot forgive. No matter what you’ve done, God will forgive you if you come to Him in faith. 

 

18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:18-19 NLT 

 

MANASSEH REPENTS!  

10 The Lord spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they ignored all his warnings. 11 So the Lord sent the commanders of the Assyrian armies, and they took Manasseh prisoner. They put a ring through his nose, bound him in bronze chains, and led him away to Babylon. 12 But while in deep distress, Manasseh sought the Lord his God and sincerely humbled himself before the God of his ancestors. 13 And when he prayed, the Lord listened to him and was moved by his request. So the Lord brought Manasseh back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh finally realized that the Lord alone is God!   2 Chronicles 33:10-13 NLT

  • Godly sorrow – take ownership of your sin. 
  • Admitting need– giving up your self-sufficiency.  
  • Invite God to move into your life for healing and growth. 

Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God. Matthew 3:8 NLT 

 

14 After this Manasseh rebuilt the outer wall of the City of David, from west of the Gihon Spring in the Kidron Valley to the Fish Gate, and continuing around the hill of Ophel. He built the wall very high. And he stationed his military officers in all of the fortified towns of Judah. 15 Manasseh also removed the foreign gods and the idol from the Lord’s Temple. He tore down all the altars he had built on the hill where the Temple stood and all the altars that were in Jerusalem, and he dumped them outside the city. 16 Then he restored the altar of the Lord and sacrificed peace offerings and thanksgiving offerings on it. He also encouraged the people of Judah to worship the Lord, the God of Israel. 2 Chronicles 33:14-16 NLT 

 

HEALTHY COMMUNITY IS CRITICAL TO HEALING. 

  • Getting real about what’s actually happening. 
  • You receive much needed support. 
  • Removes unhealthy isolation. 
  • Establishes healthy accountability. 
  • Fosters spiritual growth. 

IT IS NEVER TOO LATE FOR A COMEBACK!

Handbook & Welcome Packet

•    The parent must complete the necessary registration forms and pay a non-refundable Annual materials fee. This covers registration fees, book, and materials for class.

•    The parent must provide the center with a pre-school/child immunization certificate, or Blue Slip. This is to be kept updated, if it is not, the center will send out a notice stating that the required immunizations are out dated. The form can be obtained through the health department or your pediatrician.

•    The parent will receive a copy of the policies and procedures and will go over them thoroughly. The parent will sign the Parental Agreement form which indicates policies and procedures and agreed upon fees.

•    All enrollment forms, including a Schedule Information Form, must be completed by the parent and returned to the center by the first day of attendance.

•    Parents of children with special needs or handicaps must inform the director of the child’s condition(s) prior to enrollment so it can be determined if the center can adequately meet the needs of the child. This is necessary for the well being of the child.
