14 You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. Psalm 77:14 NIV

 

Through divine actions, the God of wonders reveals His character, His purposes, and His power on earth. 

 

WHAT IS A MIRACLE?

  • A miracle is an unusual manifestation of God’s power in which He intervenes in human affairs.
  • Miracles display God’s power, inspire wonder, and act as signs that prove who God is or substantiate His message to the world.

 

SOME OF THE MIRACLES WE SEE IN SCRIPTURE…

    • Creation – God speaks the world into existence (Genesis 1)
  • The parting of the Red Sea (Exodus 14) 
  • Jonah and the big fish (Jonah 1:17) 
    • The virgin birth of Jesus (Matthew 1:18-25) 
  • Daniel’s survival in the den of lions (Daniel 6:21-22)
  • Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s preservation in the fiery     furnace (Daniel 3:25)
    • Jesus’ walking on water (Matthew 14:25-27)
    • Jesus’ calming of the storm (Matthew 8:23-27)
  • Jesus’ healing of the nobleman’s son (John 4:46-47), a leper (Mark1:40-45), a paralytic (Matthew 9:1-8) and a woman with an issue of blood (Luke 8:43-48)
  • Jesus’ raising of the widow of Nain’s son (Luke 7:11-18), Jairus’s daughter (Luke 8:52-56), and Lazarus (John 11) 
  • Peter’s raising of Tabitha (Acts 9:36-43) 
  • Paul’s raising of Eutychus (Acts 20:7-12)
  • Jesus’ resurrection (Luke 24:1-7) 

 

Nebuchadnezzar sets up an idol.

1 King Nebuchadnezzar made a gold statue ninety feet tall and nine feet wide and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. Daniel 3:1 NLT 

  • What idols do we set up?
  • What idols do we bow down to?

 

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s Faith

13 Then Nebuchadnezzar flew into a rage and ordered that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought before him. When they were brought in, 14 Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you refuse to serve my gods or to worship the gold statue I have set up? 15 I will give you one more chance to bow down and worship the statue I have made when you hear the sound of the musical instruments. But if you refuse, you will be thrown immediately into the blazing furnace. And then what god will be able to rescue you from my power?” 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. 18 But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”  Daniel 3:13-18 NLT

 

BUT EVEN IF GOD DOESN’T!

  • I will still believe.
  • I will still trust the Father and His plan.
  • I will still give him all glory.
  • I will still worship him.

 

19 Nebuchadnezzar was so furious with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that his face became distorted with rage. He commanded that the furnace be heated seven times hotter than usual. Daniel 3:19 NLT

 

  • In this world there will be opposition. (John 16:33)
  • But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. 1 John 4:4 NLT

 

24 But suddenly, Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in amazement and exclaimed to his advisers, “Didn’t we tie up three men and throw them into the furnace?”

“Yes, Your Majesty, we certainly did,” they replied. 25 “Look!” Nebuchadnezzar shouted. “I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god!” 26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came as close as he could to the door of the flaming furnace and shouted: “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!”

So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stepped out of the fire. 27 Then the high officers, officials, governors, and advisers crowded around them and saw that the fire had not touched them. Not a hair on their heads was singed, and their clothing was not scorched. They didn’t even smell of smoke! Daniel 3:24-27 NLT

 

THE MIRACLE OF SALVATION

  • It’s a miracle that happens every day, as God takes a rebellious sinner, forgives his sin, grants him life, lavishes him with grace, adopts him as a child, and seals him for eternity—all because of the death and resurrection of Christ

Handbook & Welcome Packet

•    The parent must complete the necessary registration forms and pay a non-refundable Annual materials fee. This covers registration fees, book, and materials for class.

•    The parent must provide the center with a pre-school/child immunization certificate, or Blue Slip. This is to be kept updated, if it is not, the center will send out a notice stating that the required immunizations are out dated. The form can be obtained through the health department or your pediatrician.

•    The parent will receive a copy of the policies and procedures and will go over them thoroughly. The parent will sign the Parental Agreement form which indicates policies and procedures and agreed upon fees.

•    All enrollment forms, including a Schedule Information Form, must be completed by the parent and returned to the center by the first day of attendance.

•    Parents of children with special needs or handicaps must inform the director of the child’s condition(s) prior to enrollment so it can be determined if the center can adequately meet the needs of the child. This is necessary for the well being of the child.
