‘Gratitude – Week 2’ – 11.30.2025

18 “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”  1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT

1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
    come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
    It is he who made us, and we are his;
    we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
    and his courts with praise;
    give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
    his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:1-5 NIV

GRATITUDE IS THE DOORWAY TO GOD’S PRESENCE.

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
    come before him with joyful songs.

“The original word signifies a glad shout, such as loyal subjects give when their king appears among them. Our happy God should be worshipped by a happy people; a cheerful spirit is in keeping with his nature, his acts, and the gratitude which we should cherish for his mercies.” Charles Spurgeon

  • When was the last time you shouted for Joy to the Lord?
  • Our joyful worship comes from God’s presence, not perfect conditions.
  • Gratitude opens the gates of worship

3  Know that the Lord is God.
    It is he who made us, and we are his;
    we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

    • We can be thankful He is God and we’re not.
  • We can be thankful we were created on purpose and for a purpose.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;
  give thanks to him and praise his name.

  • Gratitude is how we enter God’s presence
  • Gratitude transforms the atmosphere.
  • A grateful person shifts the tone of a home, a workplace, a school, or a church.
  • When we lead with thanks, peace and joy follow

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
    his faithfulness continues through all generations.

    • We can be thankful that we have a good-good Father.
    • We can be thankful that God loves us and provided a way for us to be in a right relationship with Him.
  • God is faithful across generations; His promises do not shift with culture or time.

Gratitude isn’t just a seasonal response—it’s a lifestyle. It’s how we live, worship, and invite others to encounter the goodness of God, not just on Thanksgiving week.
