GENESIS
Before God built the CHURCH, He established the HOME.
EXODUS
25 When you enter the land the Lord has promised to give you, you will continue to observe this ceremony. 26 Then your children will ask, ‘What does this ceremony mean?’ 27 And you will reply, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, for he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt. And though he struck the Egyptians, he spared our families.’” Exodus 12:25-27a
Discipleship is not just something we add to the CALENDAR. It is something we bring into the RHYTHMS we already have.
DEUTERONOMY
4 “Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. 5 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.” Deuteronomy 6:4-7
The church can REINFORCE what the home is teaching, but it was never meant to REPLACE the home.
Discipleship starts in YOU before it flows through YOU. Deuteronomy 6:5-6
JESUS GREW IN A FAMILY
The Heavenly Father gave Jesus PARENTS.
Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people. Luke 2:52
4 areas: 1. WISDOM , 2. stature, 3. favor with GOD, 4. Favor with MAN
Discipleship is not only taught in SPIRITUAL moments. It is formed in EVERYDAY responsibilities.
AIM YOUR ARROWS
3 Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.
