HEROES STAND FOR WHAT IS RIGHT
The Bible reminds us that God has also called every believer to heroic living…
- It is demonstrated through truth, faithfulness, courage, sacrifice, service and love.
- A hero is not someone who is fearless, a hero is someone who does what is right despite fear.
Jesus is the greatest hero…
42 “Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” Luke 22:42 NLT
12 This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. John 15:12-14 NLT
1613 MEN’S CONFERENCE
A CALL TO COURAGEOUS, BIBLICAL MASCULINITY & LEADERSHIP
Our mission is to equip, inspire, and encourage men to grow as Christ-followers, transforming every role they hold—husband, father, son, brother, coworker, leader, and more.
13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 ESV
A man may be respected by thousands and still fail the people who call him Dad, Husband, Grandfather, or Friend.
HEROES SERVE THROUGH SACRIFICE.
45 “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45 NLT
- Holidays away from family
“What am I willing to sacrifice so someone else can experience God’s love?”
Sometimes the greatest sacrifice isn’t dying for someone. It’s living every day for someone else and something greater.
HEROES SHOW COMPASSION.
30 Jesus replied with a story: “A Jewish man was traveling from Jerusalem down to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road. 31 “By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by. 32 A Temple assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side. 33 “Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him. 34 Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. 35 The next day he handed the innkeeper two silver coins, telling him, ‘Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I’ll pay you the next time I’m here.’ 36 “Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?” Jesus asked. 37 The man replied, “The one who showed him mercy.” Then Jesus said, “Yes, now go and do the same.” Luke 10:30-37 NLT
People all around us are hurting…
- Emotionally, Spiritually, Financially, Relationally
- Heroes notice what others overlook.
HEROES LEAD WITH LOVE.
13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 ESV
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NLT
