I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU
THE GREATEST EXPRESSION OF GOD’S LOVE IS JESUS.
16 For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17 NLT
8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. 9 And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. 11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. Romans 5:8-11 NLT
● God’s love is not based on your performance.
● God does not love us because we are loveable or because we deserve it.
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. 4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. Ephesians 1:3-4 NLT
17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:17-19 NLT
● God’s love is wide enough to be everywhere.
● God’s love is long enough to last forever.
● God’s love is deep enough to reach me at my lowest.
● God’s love is high enough to forgive my failures.
GOD LOVES US BECAUSE IT’S WHO HE IS.
7 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. 8 But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. 10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
1 John 4:7-10 NLT
● God doesn’t just love; He is love.
● God lavishes His love on undeserving rebellious people.
● Agape love, the love of self-sacrifice.
● God loves us enough to let us choose.
GOD’S LOVE SHOULD BE EVIDENT IN US.
11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. 13 And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. 1 John 4:11-13 NLT
● God sends His Holy Spirit to dwell within us so that we might love as He loves.
● Evidence of God’s love in my life is my love for others.
16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. 17 And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. 18 Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 19 We love each other because he loved us first. 1 John 4:16-19 NLT
● We must put our trust in His love, not our performance.
● Are you walking daily in love or in fear?
SO WHY DOES GOD LOVE US SO MUCH?
It’s a mystery.
Next Steps for me today…
● To trust in His love, Jesus.
● To walk in God’s love and not in fear
